Azi Paybarah

Azi Paybarah is a senior politics reporter at Straight Arrow, covering how politics stories get built, framed and sold.
He began his career at the Queens Tribune, a weekly paper in his home city of New York. Most recently, he worked at the Washington Post and was part of the New York Times team that won a Pulitzer Prize in 2021 for coverage of the coronavirus pandemic. He was a Knight-Wallace Fellow in 2017-18, a co-founder of the FAQ NYC podcast and got married in a comic book store.
Azi and his family are based in Washington, D.C.
