Eva Fedderly is a New York City-based legal journalist for Straight Arrow News.

Launching her journalism career at Courthouse News, Fedderly reported on high-profile lawsuits involving First Amendment rights, espionage, segregation, human trafficking, and nuclear facilities. She was responsible for covering the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta.

When she returned to New York City, she freelanced for publications such as The Christian Science Monitor, Esquire, New York magazine, and Architectural Digest, writing about law, culture, social justice, and design.

She is the author of “These Walls: The Battle for Rikers Island and the Future of America’s Jails” (Simon and Schuster, 2023), where she examines the intersection of criminal justice reform and architecture. She is represented by literary agency Janklow and Nesbit.

Fedderly is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and Harvard University.
