Lawrence Banton

Lawrence Banton is a digital producer at Straight Arrow News.
He was born and raised in North Jersey, where his interest in writing and news media was cultivated. Lawrence graduated from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore and was able to start his career in New York City. He got his professional start in radio, where he worked as a sports and entertainment writer at Hot 97 and eventually at Sirius/XM.
After wanting to take his exploration of media even further, Lawrence landed a position as a news writer on the Emmy-winning Pix 11 morning news. But understanding the ever-changing landscape of the business, he then pursued a digital producer position for an up and coming business network – Cheddar News – before moving on to ABC News.
Outside of work, Lawrence prioritizes family, is an avid sports fan and loves to attend live shows.
