Matt Bishop
Digital Producer
Matthew R. Bishop is a digital producer at Straight Arrow News.
Prior to his work with SAN, Matt was an editor and executive at several smaller independent news services and helped run an online civics education program. An Ohio native, Matt served in Florida as a hurricane responder during Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and also spent several years in Washington, D.C., where he ran a nonprofit foreign policy magazine. He earned his M.A. in Global Communications and his B.A. in World History.
Matt enjoys writing creative fiction in his spare time. He’s published three fiction books and one short story, and also worked as a senior sci-fi/fantasy editor before returning to the world of journalism. When his eyes finally get tired from too much writing and editing, he also enjoys climbing, swimming, skiing, hiking, and exploring the wild outdoors.
