7UP reveals limited-edition Shirley Temple flavor for the holidays

Full story

Coca-Cola announced Tuesday, Sept. 24, that it is pulling a soda flavor from shelves due to disappointing sales. It can be hard for a new flavor to stick, but a recent tease for a new 7UP flavor seems to be resonating.

The soda brand is stirring up some nostalgia with the announcement of a limited-edition Shirley Temple flavor. The festive twist will be a pomegranate and cherry soda, featuring a pink and red can.

There will be both regular and zero sugar options, and it looks like we won’t have to wait too long. Customers might spot 7UP Shirley Temple on shelves as early as late October, just in time for holiday recipes.

Originally invented in the 1930s, this beloved kid’s drink was named after the late child star Shirley Temple Black, although she had no involvement in its invention.

The drink can be used in ice cream floats, pound cakes, or holiday cocktails, and this new flavor of 7UP aims to add a festive pop to the upcoming holiday season.
