“We are completely devastated and heartbroken,” Frehley’s family wrote in a statement, according to Entertainment Weekly. “In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth.”
Added the family: “We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others. The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!”
The Kennedy said in a statement it is “saddened” to hear of Frehley’s death. Frehley, along with other members of Kiss, were chosen to be Kennedy Center honorees by President Donald Trump.
“We send our deepest condolences to his friends, his family, and millions of fans worldwide,” the center said. “We will be paying tribute to this “rock soldier”, his work, and his legacy at our ceremony in December.”
