Media Miss by the left: Former CIA director John Brennan referred to DOJ for allegedly lying to Congress
Former CIA Director John Brennan could face charges of lying to Congress after House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan referred him to the Department of Justice. The recommendation stems from Brennan’s testimony during a May 2023 hearing on the Steele dossier.
Jordan said Brennan gave “numerous willfully and intentionally false statements” during his testimony about the investigation into Russia meddling with the 2016 election.
Brennan has denied wrongdoing, previously calling the investigation into him a “political stunt” when it became public in July.
Media Miss by the right: Jon Stewart calls Trump ‘king-adjacent,’ says behavior appears ‘king-esque’
Comedian and “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart is comparing President Donald Trump to a monarch – describing him as “king-adjacent” and “king-esque” following last weekend’s “No Kings Day” protests across the country.
“Maybe Trump isn’t an all-powerful king, the kind who can do whatever he wants, but he’s undeniably king-adjacent, king-esque, moving for more,” Stewart said.
To support his assertion, Stewart pointed to Trump’s deployment of the National Guard in multiple cities and his moves in “cutting off trade with all parts of the world.”
He also criticized what he described as near-reverential language used by some Republican figures when referring to Trump, much like one would a king.
