Attorney General Pam Bondi said there’s been 719 arrests since the deployment, and that 91 illegal guns have been seized so far. The police union says crime has declined, with carjackings down 83% and robbery down by 46%.
The administration says more than 200 of the arrests made so far have involved unauthorized migrants. District officials have argued the crackdown is focused more on immigration enforcement than reducing crime.

Meanwhile, public tours of the White House are being suspended indefinitely to make way for the construction of a new $200 million ballroom.
The project, funded by donors and President Trump himself, will span 90,000 square feet. Construction is set to begin in September. No timeline for when it’s expected to be completed has been released yet.
The ballroom plan is the latest in a string of White House renovations under Trump, including changes to the Rose Garden, which has since been transformed into a concrete patio. Trump also redecorated the Oval Office.
