Millions of volunteers lay wreaths honoring veterans

Full story

On Saturday, more than 2 million volunteers gathered across America to lay wreaths honoring those who have served in the military. This is the 34th year of the event hosted by “Wreaths Across America.”

Back in 1992, Morrill Worchester donated 5,000 wreaths that were surplus from his wreath company. He sent the wreaths from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery. That gesture has turned from one cemetery to more than 5,000 locations around the United States, at sea and abroad.
