Media Miss by the left: Noem to testify before Senate Judiciary in March

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 3.

She’s expected to face questions about the administration’s immigration enforcement strategy, protests tied to those operations and the two recent deadly federal officer-involved shootings in Minnesota.

The hearing comes as pressure mounts on Noem, with some lawmakers calling for her resignation or impeachment following the shootings. Senate Democrats are also threatening to withhold DHS funding, a move that could trigger a government shutdown.

Media Miss by the right: Threats investigated by Capitol Police jump 57%

A new U.S. Capitol Police report shows investigators handled 57% more threats last year than in 2024. Authorities reviewed nearly 15,000 “concerning” statements, behaviors and communications in 2025 – compared to just under 9,500 the year prior.

This is the third year in a row that threats against lawmakers have risen, representing one of the largest increases Capitol Police have seen in years.

Officials said a perceived sense of anonymity online is fueling the rise, along with expanded outreach that has improved threat reporting across the congressional community.

The warning comes amid intensifying nationwide political tensions, underscored this week when Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar was attacked at a Minneapolis town hall.
