Media Miss by the right: NRA pushes back on Trump comments about guns at protests

The NRA has responded after Trump said Alex Pretti should not have been carrying a gun at a protest.

In a social media post, the organization stated that it “unequivocally believes that all law-abiding citizens have a right to keep and bear arms anywhere they have a legal right to be.”

The statement follows the fatal shooting of Pretti by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis. Authorities said Pretti was carrying a legally permitted concealed weapon, which he did not draw on officers.

Media Miss by the left: Trump admin sues woman who failed to self-deport for nearly $1 million

The Trump administration is suing a woman for nearly $1 million after she allegedly remained in the U.S. despite being ordered to self-deport.

According to court filings, Marta Alicia Ramirez Veliz failed to leave the country in 2022. The federal government served her with a formal notice of intention to fine last April and is now seeking more than $941,000 in penalties, plus interest.
