While it’s not exactly a royal reunion, it could be a step toward that. Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, are planning to move back to the U.K.
Harry and Meghan currently live in Montecito, Santa Barbara County, California, with their two kids, Archie and Lilibet. They moved to the U.S. in 2020 after stepping back from their royal duties.

Now, the Telegraph reports the family is expected to move back to London, but as private citizens, not working members of the royal family.
Harry and Meghan plan to live in a private residence near London, while retaining their homes in California and Portugal. King Charles reportedly became aware of these plans on Sunday and is said to be pleased.
A strained relationship with the King and future King
Since moving to the U.S., Harry has kept brief contact with the royal family in London but has shared details about his strained relationships with King Charles and his brother, Prince William.
Last year, Harry said he “couldn’t see a world” in which he would bring his family back to the U.K. because of ongoing security disputes.
Things changed slightly last year when Harry visited his father, who is undergoing treatment for cancer. He also expressed a desire to reconcile with his family, saying he did not “know how much longer my father has.”
Most recently, Harry visited the U.K. in July, but it was a strained visit, with Buckingham Palace rescinding an offer for Harry to stay there.
Plus, he had to walk back plans to bring his wife and family amid security concerns.
Harry and Meghan’s plans
According to NBC News, Meghan is expected to continue running her lifestyle brand, As Ever, from the U.K.
Harry and Meghan’s children have been enrolled in British schools, starting in September, meaning the move could happen within the next few weeks.
And India McTaggart, a royal correspondent at The Telegraph, said the move may make things easier for Harry, who does a lot of charity work in the U.K.
“A lot of his charities are based here, whether it’s Invictus or WellChild. And I think he feels closer to home here, obviously, because friends are here and I think it’s become so deeply complicated for him to go back and forth because of all the security concerns he had,” McTaggart told NBC. “I just think he has sort of wanted to do this for a while, and it appears that Meghan is taking one for the team.”
