According to a new report from the New York Times, two sets of forensic scientists have identified the two people they think are behind QAnon. Using computer analysis, the two groups, working separately, named Paul Furber and Ron Watkins as the people behind the posts.
The Times reports the analysts believe Furber was the first to post a ‘Q’, with Watkins taking over in 2018. Watkin’s father, James Watkins, is the owner of the website where QAnon posts live, and has been contacted by the January 6 Select Committee.
Watkins is now running for Congress in Arizona.

As part of the New York Times report, both men deny being behind the movement, but Furber did admit that his writing style resembles Q’s style.
