Media Miss by the right: Judge rules Trump admin’s partisan diversion of FEMA funds is illegal

A federal judge has granted states a temporary restraining order barring FEMA from diverting $233 million in disaster relief funds away from 12 Democratic-leaning states.

In her ruling, the Trump-appointed judge said attempts to seize the funds from those states were plainly illegal. The states claim the administration’s attempt to seize the funds is intended to punish those it views as insufficiently loyal to Trump’s anti-immigration agenda, which the judge noted is also illegal.

The ruling ensures that the funds remain available while litigation continues, according to Politico.
