The website is designed to enhance “the citizen experience.” It functions similarly to an AI chatbot, allowing Americans to search for anything regarding the federal government and be rerouted to answers they may need.

During his remarks Tuesday, Trump called America.gov “a reinvention of your government for the 21st century and beyond.”

“We are putting power and control back in the hands of the people,” Trump said.

America.gov

Airbnb founder and U.S. Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia officially unveiled the site Tuesday, saying America.gov is an AI tool designed to organize government information and resources currently spread across various agency websites.

The official described it as “a new front door for the federal government that will provide a one-stop shop for Americans.”

“You can imagine all the things that people try to get done or want to get done in the federal government,” Gebbia told Fox prior to the unveiling. “Just having a brand-new way to access and actually get to the things that people are trying to get to in the federal government.”

Log on to the site, and you’re immediately prompted to enter a question, as you would on ChatGPT, Gemini, or any other AI tool.

“Hello, America,” the site reads. “Whatever you need from government, start here.”

From there, you can ask the site virtually anything, from how to get your first passport to how to enroll in Medicare. The website can help you find government jobs, start investing in your child’s future, and more.

“For the first time, there’s one place to get everything done across the federal government,” Gebbia said. “Finish your lists without ever leaving the site.”

And in 2027, Gebbia says more changes are coming, including adding forms and processes to the chat. Gebbia gave the example of a person changing their name after getting married.

Now, the site tells you how to change your name. Starting next year, Gebbia says you will be able to change it directly on America.gov.

An all-day event

The unveiling was part of an all-day event featuring appearances by Elon Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Blue Origin CEO Dave Limp.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz and Gebbia are also expected to attend.

There will be panel discussions throughout the day with senior administration officials and top industry leaders in artificial intelligence, energy dominance, health, space and agriculture, Fox reports.

“This is really an incredible collection of people that are working in service to the nation and really showcasing what the future of America is, where we’re headed,” Gebbia told the news outlet.

Gebbia said the goal is to make interacting with the federal government easier and improve Americans’ experience doing so.
