Summary

MAGA money

President Donald Trump has reportedly raised more than $1.5 billion since winning reelection in 2024, including nearly $200 million cash on hand for his MAGA Inc. super PAC.

Small and big donors

His fundraising totals far exceed those of past presidents at a similar point, with small-dollar donations, high-dollar dinners, and viral email pitches contributing to the haul.

Outpacing Democrats

The war chest could give Republican candidates a significant advantage in the 2026 midterm elections, while Democrats struggle to keep pace.

Full story

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he has raised more than $1.5 billion since winning the 2024 election. The money Trump has secured is record-breaking and unprecedented for post-election fundraising, according to the Brennan Center’s analysis.

“I am pleased to report that I have raised, since the Great Presidential Election of 2024, in various forms and political entities, in excess of 1.5 Billion Dollars,” Trump wrote in a late-night Truth Social post.

The announcement capped months of aggressive fundraising by Trump’s network of political groups. His main super PAC, MAGA Inc., reported in July that it brought in $176.9 million in the first half of 2025 and ended June with nearly $200 million in cash on hand.

MAGA Inc. outpaces past presidents

MAGA Inc. has raised about $198.9 million since Trump’s reelection — more than six times the previous record for a presidential super PAC this early in a term, according to the Brennan Center. By comparison, groups aligned with former President Joe Biden raised $32.5 million by mid-2021, while groups aligned with former President Barack Obama had less than $500,000 by mid-2013. During Trump’s own first term, supportive PACs had raised just $2.5 million at the same point.

Cash comparison

Most presidents ease up on fundraising after winning reelection, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. Trump has gone the other way, treating his second term more like a first.

His political network ended June with more than $350 million in cash across MAGA Inc., his leadership PAC and the Republican National Committee. Trump has also more than doubled the RNC’s fundraising levels through the first two quarters of 2025, while Democrats have struggled to keep pace.

At midyear, the RNC reported $80 million on hand compared to the DNC’s $15 million.

Small donors and big-ticket dinners

Trump’s fundraising machine mixes small-dollar donations with high-dollar events. His campaign has sent out more than 700 email solicitations since January, roughly five a day, according to the Journal’s analysis. The emails often offer perks, like Trump-branded merchandise or symbolic title cards such as “White House advisor.”

The emails also lean into viral moments. After NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte jokingly referred to Trump as “daddy” earlier this summer, his campaign blasted out a fundraising email selling $35 T-shirts with Trump’s face and the word “Daddy.”

Meanwhile, Trump continues to host fundraisers at Mar-a-Lago and his Bedminster golf club in New Jersey, with tickets often priced at more than $1 million.
