“Let the message to the IRGC be clear: If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost —taking out three of yours,” said Adm. Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander. “We will not hesitate to defend American forces, and if necessary, destroy Iran’s limited and exposed oil fleet.”

On Thursday, Vice President JD Vance rejected the idea that the U.S. is at war with Iran, even as fighting between the two countries continues. He also says he doesn’t know when the conflict will end.

Vance made the comments Thursday during his first appearance at a White House press briefing, filling in for former press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

“I wouldn’t call it a war,” he told reporters. “Right now, there is no active shooting. I recognize there have been places where this has flared up… But when you ask, when will this end? … I think the reality is, I don’t know the answer to that question. You would have to ask the Iranians.”

This is a developing story and will be updated.
