Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard was present Wednesday as FBI agents executed a court-authorized search of an elections facility in Fulton County, Georgia. Administration officials say her visit is connected to a broader federal effort examining the 2020 election.
A copy of the warrant obtained by The Washington Post reveals that agents sought ballots, voting records and machine data as part of an investigation into potential violations of federal law, including statutes governing election record retention and fraudulent votes.

According to exclusive reporting from The Wall Street Journal, Gabbard has spent months overseeing the administration’s initiative to re-examine the 2020 race. Officials told the paper she has reviewed voting machine data, analyzed information from swing states and explored claims involving foreign interference.
WSJ: Gabbard leading election review
Gabbard regularly briefed Trump and senior aides and is expected to prepare a formal report outlining her findings, the WSJ reported.
The role places the nation’s top intelligence official inside an inquiry centered on a domestic election — a departure from the position’s traditional focus on foreign threats.
Cybersecurity experts and multiple prior reviews have found no evidence of widespread fraud that would have altered the outcome of the 2020 contest, which Trump continues to dispute.
Democrats question intelligence role

Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, publicly questioned her presence and said Congress should be informed if a legitimate foreign intelligence nexus exists.
“Tulsi Gabbard has even been in charge of dismantling what was called the Foreign Malign Influence Center to try to make sure foreign countries don’t interfere in our elections,” he said in a video posted on X. “This complete Trump loyalist somehow popping on an FBI raid — what the heck was she doing. We ought to stand up and step up against ICE . We also got to stand up to protect our elections coming this year.”
Administration officials told NewsNation Gabbard plays a key role in protecting election infrastructure and preventing outside interference.
Search targets pivotal county
Fulton County, home to Atlanta, played a central role in the aftermath of the 2020 election. Former President Joe Biden narrowly carried Georgia that year, and several audits later reaffirmed the result.
County officials said that federal agents collected hundreds of boxes of election materials. The Justice Department has also pursued legal action seeking access to additional records tied to the vote.
The search marks one of the most visible steps in the administration’s continuing effort to revisit the election nearly six years after it was decided.
