The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged nine people with looting in evacuation zones around huge wildfires in Los Angeles. The charges include a burglary that netted about $200,000 and the theft of an Emmy statuette, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said.

Around 92,000 people remain displaced after the wildfires, which have killed at least 25 people.

More than 40 people have been arrested for various crimes during the fires, with authorities implementing a curfew to help prevent looting.

The police are working to reassure residents that their property is safe from looters, according to Blake Chow, the assistant chief of the Los Angeles Police Department’s office of special operations.
