Floridians Protecting Freedom filed a lawsuit against DeSantis’ Department of Health over alleged political censorship related to pro-abortion rights ads. The Department of Health threatened local TV stations with criminal charges for airing the Yes On 4 ad.
Campaign director Lauren Brenzel stated the state’s actions represent unconstitutional government interference. The First Amendment lawsuit targets the Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., administration for what they describe as his “months long-crusade” against the abortion measure.
