Al Sharpton’s nonprofit got $500K from Kamala Harris before interview

The Harris-Walz campaign donated about $500,000 to the Rev. Al Sharpton’s nonprofit, the National Action Network, according to Federal Election Commission records. The donation came before the vice president’s sit-down interview with the civil rights activist.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ team made two donations of $250,000 to Sharpton’s group, on Sept. 5 and Oct. 1, according to the records.

The vice president and Sharpton sat down for an interview on Oct. 20 for MSNBC. That was less than three weeks after the donations were made.
