British Columbia Health Minister Josie Osborne said yesterday that over 130 American health care professionals have formally accepted new positions in British Columbia, Canada. That figure includes at least 80 nurses and 38 doctors selected from a pool of over 1,400 American applicants.

Osborne said he was eager to welcome the American health care workers and was optimistic more would come, saying that “[the] erosion of rights, disregard of science and the denial of universal health care” in the United States was incentivizing U.S. health care professionals to move abroad.
