Ann Arbor police, University of Michigan probing suspected ‘bias-motivated assault’ of Jewish student

A University of Michigan student was assaulted by unknown males after confirming he was Jewish. The attack prompted an investigation by the Ann Arbor Police Department, which labeled it a “bias-motivated assault.”
“There is absolutely no place for hate or ethnic intimidation in the City of Ann Arbor,” Ann Arbor Police Department Chief Andre C. Anderson said.
University of Michigan President Santa J. Ono condemned the violence. In a statement, Ono said that antisemitism contradicts the university’s values of safety, respect and inclusion.
