Associated Press removes story misquoting Tulsi Gabbard on Trump and Putin

The Associated Press retracted a story that incorrectly claimed Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are “very good friends.” Gabbard actually referred to Trump and Indian Prime Minister Modi, clarifying the error, according to a statement from The Associated Press.

The AP acknowledged its mistake and stated it would publish a corrected version of the story, ensuring transparency about the error.

The publication has previously disputed with Trump. The outlet has since been barred from certain White House events after refusing to refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.
