A woman killed in Minneapolis by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent is at least the fifth person killed during immigration crackdowns under the Trump administration. Renee Nicole Good was driving her car through an ICE scene when an officer shot her in what federal officials said was self-defense.
The shooting sparked protests, and hundreds gathered for a vigil expressing anger against immigration enforcement. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz stated the shooting was predictable and called for peaceful protests, while local officials disputed federal claims of self-defense.

In addition to the shooting in Minneapolis, ICE agents shot and killed a person in Chicago in September. Two other people died after they were hit by cars while fleeing from immigration officers during separate incidents in August and October. A farmworker in California fell from a greenhouse, breaking his neck, during an ICE raid last July.
