President Joe Biden awarded Cecile Richards the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Nov. 20, in a private ceremony, as stated by the White House. The ceremony was not listed on Biden’s public schedule, and the decision to award Richards was only announced afterward, reported the Washington Times.
Biden expressed his honor in a post on X, stating Richards courageously advances the vision of America as a nation of freedom. The Presidential Medal of Honor is the nation’s highest civilian honor. At a White House ceremony in the spring, Biden awarded the honor to 19 Americans.
