Former President Joe Biden reminisced about seeing “colored kids” attending segregated schools, which influenced his political involvement. He made the comment during his speech at the Advocates, Counselors, and Representatives for the Disabled conference in Chicago on April 15.

Biden criticized Republicans, claiming they want to “cut and gut” Social Security and joked about the age of those receiving benefits, stating, “Those 300-year-old folk getting that Social Security, I want to meet them.”

Biden’s speech, his first since leaving office, further addressed Social Security issues, alleging that the Trump administration had cut staff and aimed to undermine benefits for seniors.

The Trump administration’s Social Security X account countered Biden’s claims, asserting that no field offices had closed since Jan. 20, and accused him of lying to the public.
