Border crossings reach record lows amid implementation of Trump-era enforcement policies

Illegal border crossings fell to their lowest level ever recorded in June, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, with 25,228 encounters reported. There were 8,024 apprehensions in June, marking a historical low for the agency.

At the southern border, apprehensions fell to 6,072, down 15% from the previous record in March. CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott stated, “CBP is delivering results on every front” regarding enforcement efforts.
