Border czar Tom Homan stated that only nine migrants illegally in the country were released under the Trump administration’s first 70 days. That number represents a 99.9% drop from the same period under former President Joe Biden.
Homan explained that the nine were released for legitimate reasons, including being material witnesses and in extreme medical distress.
Homan highlighted a significant increase under the Biden administration, with 184,000 migrants illegally crossing the border during the same timeframe as the nine under Trump.
Border Patrol’s acting commissioner, Pete Flores, noted that apprehensions in March 2025 were lower than in early March 2024, showcasing efforts to secure the border.
