In a Truth Social post on Tuesday evening, U.S. President Donald Trump accused Russia, North Korea and China of conspiring against the United States. China denied those allegations, and a Chinese foreign military spokesperson sought to reassure Americans that China’s recent military parade was not intended as a sign of opposition against the United States.

Several other world leaders, however, also seem to have perceived some level of threat. The European Union’s foreign policy chief said that alleged collaboration between leaders of the three autocratic states poses a “direct challenge” to the international order.

Trump said that the parade was “very, very impressive,” but then added “…I understood the reason they were doing it. And they were hoping I was watching — and I was watching.”
