China’s consulate in New York stated that Consul General Huang Ping is “performing his duties as usual” following claims of his removal after an alleged Chinese agent case.
The consulate shared photos of Huang working and visiting a historical site to counter rumors about his employment status, which became controversial after Linda Sun’s arrest and further reports by the U.S. Department of State.
Spokesperson Liu Pengyu emphasized that Chinese diplomats do not interfere in other nations’ affairs and oppose false information spread by the media.
