Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) criticized President Donald Trump at a MoveOn event in Phoenix, Arizona, stating that “Donald Trump is a piece of s—” and calling out the complicity of Senate Republicans and the U.S. Supreme Court in some of Trump’s recent controversial actions. Crockett accused Supreme Court Justices of bribery and corruption, saying that they lacked ethics and enabled Trump’s abuses of power, and demanded new ethics guardrails for Justices.
Crockett also highlighted her concerns about racially biased redistricting efforts in Texas, labeling them as “racist and anti-democratic” and detrimental to minority voting power. Crockett urged Democratic leaders to combat Trump and his enablers in Congress and to hold Republicans accountable for their actions.

Earlier this year, Democrats revived the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal and Transparency Act, which aimed to establish enforceable ethics guardrails on the Court. Without Democratic control of either the House or Senate, it’s a bill that’s unlikely to advance in the near-term future.
