U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has introduced the RESTORE Act to assist service members affected by the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The mandate previously resulted in negative consequences for many, including dishonorable discharges and demotions.

The bill aims to create a Special Review Board within the Department of Defense to investigate the denial of nearly all Religious Accommodation Requests from service members.

Approximately 28,000 RARs were submitted under the mandate, but fewer than 400 were approved, as reported by The Center Square.

Service members are still dealing with the outcomes, such as denied promotions and negative performance reviews, due to their religious decisions against the vaccine mandate.
