Elon Musk has received over $38 billion in government contracts, loans, subsidies and tax credits, according to a report from The Washington Post. Nearly two-thirds of the funds were received in the last five years, with at least $6.3 billion in 2024 alone.
Musk’s companies have 52 contracts with seven government agencies, set to pay an additional $111.8 billion in the coming years.
Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, a professor at Yale School of Management, noted that no other major tech company has been as reliant on federal funding as Musk’s companies.
