FBI Director Kash Patel is ending the FBI’s partnership with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), an organization that works to identify and combat antisemitism. Patel claimed that the ADL serves as a “political front” and is spying on Americans.
The announcement comes after the ADL designated the right-wing organization “Turning Point USA” (TPUSA) as an extremist organization, flagging it for antisemitism and far-right extremism.

Patel also cited former FBI Director James Comey’s previous praise of the ADL as a reason to terminate ties. In 2014, Comey had praised the ADL for helping to combat violent extremism.
The FBI previously had a close relationship with the ADL, which helped design some FBI curriculum for incoming officers, according to The Washington Post.
The ADL has since closed off its index of extremist groups, but had previously determined that TPUSA provided a “platform for extremists and far-right conspiracy theorists.”
TPUSA is believed to have been instrumental in mobilizing right-wing and far-right youth voter turnout in the 2024 U.S. elections, where President Donald Trump won both the Electoral College and the national popular vote.
