In 2019, a witness reported Ryan Wesley Routh’s license plate, leading to his quick arrest by the FBI in Florida, according to Sheriff Ric Bradshaw. FBI Special Agent Jeffrey B. Veltri stated that the original tip about Routh was not verified, and the investigation was eventually closed.
Routh was charged with felony gun charges after hiding near Trump International Golf Club and reportedly aiming a rifle at the perimeter during a golf game. The tipoff allegedly came in while Routh was living in Hawaii.
