For the first time, Miami-Dade County has more registered Republicans than Democrats, with 464,370 Republicans and 440,790 Democrats, as reported by Florida’s Voice. Michael Pruser, director of data science at Decision Desk HQ, stated that Miami-Dade County dropped 172,747 voters from active rolls, aiding the GOP’s registration lead.
Republicans now hold a voter registration advantage in 59 of Florida’s 67 counties, a significant change from the previous Democratic edge seen in 2018.
State Party Chairman Evan Power emphasized that this change represents a victory for Republicans leveraging their influence in Miami-Dade County.
