A former Capitol Police officer called Jan. 6, 2021, the “worst day” of his life as he described ongoing threats to democracy. Harry Dunn published a memoir and spoke about it to mark five years since the Capitol riots and said writing the book was part of his healing.
Dunn previously testified about his experiences while defending the Capitol during the Oath Keepers trial, disproving claims that the extremist organization assisted officers during the Capitol riot.

Dunn is just one of many who are advocating for ongoing accountability for the Jan. 6 attacks. Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., spoke on the House floor yesterday evening, saying the threat exposed that day still persists.
Clyburn argued that recent actions have eroded accountability, citing President Donald Trump’s pardons that undercut it and a lawsuit over a plaque commemorating officers injured on Jan. 6.
While Clyburn spoke at the House, Trump was speaking at the Kennedy Center, urging unity among the Republican Party.
