Former CIA director John Brennan could face charges after House Judiciary Committee chair Jim Jordan referred him to the Department of Justice. Brennan’s testimony during a May 2023 hearing on the Steele dossier has been brought into question.
Jordan says the former CIA head gave “numerous willfully and intentionally false statements” during his testimony. Jordan also claims Brennan’s statements contradict intelligence findings in declassified documents.
In July, Brennan denied wrongdoing when news emerged that he was under investigation. “It is hard to believe that here we are, eight and a half years afterward. We’re still going over this ground that has been, I think, fairly well and exhaustively plowed,” he said.
