Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has allegedly hired a lawyer as scrutiny from the Department of Justice grows. The move follows Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s release of newly declassified documents pertaining to the Obama administration.

On Friday, July 18, Gabbard presented “overwhelming evidence” alleging then-President Barack Obama and his national security team conspired against President Donald Trump after the 2016 election against Hillary Clinton.

According to Newsmax, during an appearance on CNN, Clapper told anchor Kaitlan Collins that he had hired a lawyer after Collins asked what he would do if they came after him.

“Well, I’ll lawyer up,” he said. “I already have.”
