On Monday, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) launched an inquiry to understand exposure to false claims about “gender-affirming care,” with public comments due by Sept. 26. The FTC seeks to evaluate whether medical professionals may have violated Sections 5 and 12 of the FTC Act by failing to disclose material risks related to gender-affirming care.

Kaiser Permanente and Children’s National Hospital announced they will no longer provide gender transition-related medical interventions due to federal scrutiny of transgender care.
