Over the past few weeks, California Governor Gavin Newsom has been mocking President Trump and his MAGA allies, satirically imitating Trump’s speech, rhetoric and communications style in social media posts, memes, videos and more. On Monday, right-wing commentator and former White House Press Secretary Dana Marie Perino criticized Newsom on a Fox News show, saying: “You have to stop it with the Twitter thing…[Newsom’s] got a big job as governor of California, but if he wants an even bigger job, he’s got to be a little more serious.”
Her statement provoked an all-caps response from the satirical governor: “ALMOST A WEEK IN AND THEY STILL DON’T GET IT,” Newsom posted, referring to the amount of time he’s been imitating Trump’s communications style.

On Tuesday, the California governor followed up with another all-caps post: “FOX HATES THAT I AM AMERICA’S MOST FAVORITE GOVERNOR (“RATINGS KING”) SAVING AMERICA — WHILE TRUMP CAN’T EVEN CONQUER THE “BIG” STAIRS ON AIR FORCE ONE ANYMORE!!!”
