The World Health Organization is raising concerns over rising malnutrition in Gaza, reporting that over 85 percent of related deaths occurred in July alone. Among the dead are at least 24 children under the age of five, according to the agency.

Health centers in the region are reportedly operating beyond capacity, with over 5,000 children seeking treatment in early July. The WHO warns that without consistent access to food, medicine and fuel, the situation could worsen.

In response, the Israeli government has authorized a limited “tactical pause” to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid. However, the WHO emphasizes that temporary pauses may not be enough. Fuel supplies for medical facilities are projected to run out by mid-August.

As conditions remain fragile, international attention is shifting toward ensuring sustained access to basic resources for civilians and supporting the region’s health infrastructure.
