A former staffer for Rep. Mike Collins, R-Ga., posted a picture of a swastika, as well as one of himself in Ku Klux Klan robes, on social media in June and July, The Washington Post reported Thursday.
These images, found by the Post, were shared by Preston Parra, who interned for Collins in 2024, then started working as a contractor for the lawmaker’s leadership PAC for several months in 2025. Along with the swastika and KKK images, Parra also posted “DEUTCHLAND UBER ALLES,” which is a song lyric associated with Nazi Germany, a racial slur referring to Black people, and the phrase “White Power.”
Collins is running against incumbent Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff in November’s Georgia Senate race.
At a news conference, Ossoff said the staffer’s posts are “disgraceful and disqualifying,” Ossoff said.
“Yet another scandal for the bigot congressman Mike Collins and his collapsing Senate campaign,” he said.
In a statement to Georgia Public Broadcasting, Collins’ campaign said Parra’s posts were “vile and unhinged,” adding that Collins “unequivocally” condemned them.
Other people connected to Collins have been linked to white nationalists and racist, antisemitic comments too. Last month, CNN reported his son-in-law, David Alan Scheer II, is a pro-White nationalist and social media influencer. In May, Collins fired his chief of staff Brandon Phillips after he mocked a woman who alleged ex-NBC News anchor Matt Lauer raped her. The person who replaced Phillips, Kip Talley, was later fired following a Slate report that he was in a group chat with white supremacists Nick Fuentes and Richard Spencer.
