Surviving family members of a deceased victim of Jeffrey Epstein, Virginia Giuffre, are accusing President Trump’s Department of Justice (DOJ) of providing Ghislaine Maxwell with “a platform to rewrite history” and potentially cover up crimes. The family members called Maxwell a “monster who deserves to rot in prison for the rest of her life,” according to NBC News.
Maxwell was a top accomplice to Jeffrey Epstein and is currently serving out a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking.

The concern from the victim’s family comes after the public disclosure of letters and correspondence connecting President Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, and also follows news that Trump’s name is in the so-called “Epstein files.”
Surviving family members and Democratic officials were concerned that Maxwell’s interview with the DOJ took place without any prosecutor who knows the facts of the case, and that Maxwell might give misleading testimony, presumably in exchange for some kind of favor or deal from the administration.
During the interview, the family wrote, Maxwell “is never challenged about her court-proven lies, providing her a platform to rewrite history.”
Maxwell’s attorneys deny those allegations, and insist that their client has been giving a truthful and consistent account of the events and individuals involved. “If she wanted to make up stories to curry favor, she could have targeted Democrats like President Clinton. She didn’t, because she’s telling the truth,” one of Maxwell’s attorneys argued.
