California Gov. Gavin Newsom was confronted by a wildfire victim about the lack of water to fight fires in Los Angeles, which have destroyed homes and taken at least five lives. President-Elect Donald Trump criticized Newsom for the wildfires, claiming he is politicizing the disaster and calling him incompetent.
The Palisades Fire has burned 17,234 acres, and the governor stated he was in contact with President Joe Biden about response costs.
Gov. Newsom expressed empathy for the wildfire victim, stating, “I’m devastated for you, I’m so sorry, especially for your daughter.”
