Harris campaign says Dem nominee ‘does not support’ electric vehicle mandate

A campaign official for Kamala Harris stated it is a “lie” that she supports an electric vehicle mandate, despite her previous support and cosponsoring of related legislation in 2019. Harris’s campaign claimed she “does not support” an electric vehicle mandate in an email to supporters, which was contradicting her past actions as a senator and vice president.
During her time as a senator, Harris cosponsored the Zero-Emission Vehicles Act, which required car manufacturers to sell only zero-emission vehicles by 2040.
