Rep. Shri Thanedar, D-Mich., called for President Donald Trump’s impeachment for failing to follow a Supreme Court ruling regarding Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s deportation. U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg stated there is probable cause to hold the Trump administration in criminal contempt for not following the ruling.
However, Thanedar believes Trump’s actions regarding the Supreme Court ruling justify impeachment.
“Donald Trump is not abiding by a lawful Supreme Court ruling,” he said.
The House impeached Trump twice before, making him the only federal official in history to hold this record. However, the Senate acquitted him both times.
