Republicans in the House of Representatives are accusing former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., of tampering with a Jan. 6 witness. Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., released a report Tuesday, Dec. 17, saying that Cheney may have encouraged a witness, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, to commit perjury. Loudermilk serves as the chairman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight.
The House GOP has requested that the FBI investigate the criminality of Cheney’s actions. The accusations arise amid ongoing investigations into the Jan. 6 events. Since serving as the Vice Chair of the January 6 Select Committee, Cheney has faced scrutiny from her party for her criticism of former President Donald Trump.
