A former Internal Revenue Service contractor leaked the records of over 405,000 taxpayers, which included President Donald Trump’s tax returns, according to the IRS. The contractor, Charles Edward Littlejohn, is serving a five-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to the leaks in January 2024.


More than 405,000 taxpayers received notification about the leaks, with approximately 89% of them being business entities, as stated by the IRS. Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee highlighted that the actual scale of IRS leaks was much larger than initially reported by the Biden administration.
